Todd & Emma - Colorado Springs Engagement

Todd and Emma talked a little bit about how they met. At a grocery store, through a mutual friend. Nothing real extravagant. Nothing heart-stopping. But they eventually went on a date and it grew from there. People put so much weight on the love stories you see in movies. The "love at first sight;" the unrealistic expectations we put on our significant others according to Hollywood. But from what I've learned and still am learning, you can still have true love in the little, ordinary things. Don't compare your life and love to the movies that Hollywood throws at you. It'll leave you craving something that doesn't exist. Now I'm not dissing on people who had love at first sight, who feel like they've won the lottery and feel like their fairy tale has come true! Because believe me, I thank God every day for sending my husband my way. And every selfless act he does, every joke he makes, every smile he gives me, every compliment he gives me, every kiss he plants on me, makes me feel so loved and on top of the world. This feeling wasn't there the very first interaction we had together. But it grew. The more we got to know each other, the more walls we let down, the more time we spent together, God blossomed this thing into a full on selfless love for each other. I don't think Hollywood could ever truly create that kind of love.
It was so fun being able to take Todd and Emma's engagement pictures in Colorado! They are both from the Colorado Springs/Denver area so we decided to go to the Garden of the Gods and snap some photos. Todd is my husband's cousin so it was fun catching up some! Both Todd and Emma are laid back, easygoing and Andrew and and I had a great time with them! And my college roommate is from the Springs so it was such a blessing being able to see her again and she even came with and was my assistant for the evening! Then we had some of the best BBQ we've ever tasted at Rudy's near there. Might just have to keep that in mind for next time we are up that way! Colorado has special place in my heart and I can never pass up an opportunity to visit! Can't wait for their wedding in September! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Lawrenz to-be!
